Join Grand Marshals Mercedes Ellington, Danny Tenaglia, David Parsons, and Funmilayo Chesney as they cut the ribbon to unleash over 10,000 dancers representing more than 100 unique style—from traditional to contemporary, from the streets to the stage!  Experience the color and power of African dance, the infectious swing of Lindy Hop, the grace of Ballroom and Ballet, the fire of Salsa, and the global richness of Bolivian, Mexican, Chinese, Thai, and Indian Classical & Bhangra styles. Don’t miss the beats of Hip-Hop and House Music, the joy of Caribbean carnival moves, and the expression of Contemporary dance—all pulsing through the heart of New York City.

The parade kicks off at noon on Sixth Avenue at 17th Street, heads east on 8th Street, dances past our Grand Stand at Astor Place, and finishes in Tompkins Square Park.

DanceFest follows from 3–7pm in the park, featuring:
Over 70 performances on the Main and Community Stages
More than 20 site-specific dances popping up across the park
FREE dance classes from the city’s best teaching artists
