International singer and songwriter, LADY ALMA, is bringing her soaring, searing vocals back to eager audiences who desire her incomparable funk-house-soul styling. From her dynamic live shows that left critics and fans alike breathless across the globe for two decades, to the recent revival of her hit single produced by The Rainmakers entitled “Let It Fall”, LADY ALMA continues to be a widely praised source of true sonic satisfaction since her introduction.
Born in San Diego, and raised in Philadelphia, LADY ALMA began her entry into the house music scene recording club anthems helmed by the likes of super-producers Yukihiro Fukutomi, Masters at Work, Fanatix, 4Hero, and fellow Philly mainstay King Britt, where she was featured on his legendary album When the Funk Hits the Fan. She has worked with Mark de Clive-Lowe – fan favorite songs include “Keep It Movin’”, “Believe”, “Hold Your Head Up” and their infectious 2010 cover of Michael Jackson’s “I Can’t Help It”. In 2014, she released her single “It’s House Music”, produced by Osunlade, on Yoruba Records, which is still considered a fan-favorite world-wide. In 2017, her single “Peace You’ll Find” was released on Reelsoul Musik, produced by Will “Reelsoul” Rodriguez.
With the resurgence of “Let It Fall”, which went viral via Facebook with over 20 million views (video of a fan seen dancing and lip-syncing to the song in Johannesburg, Gauteng South Africa), and thanks to another video of legendary choreographer Toni Basil, dancing to “It’s House Music”, that went viral with over 5 million views on Twitter, and was also seen on Inside Edition; it is clear – LADY ALMA is in-demand! Her single “Glory & Honor” (produced by Darryl James) was released in March 2018, and quickly followed by “A Time And A Place” with producer/DJ Ralf GUM, which was released in June 2018 on GOGO Music. Also in 2018, LADY ALMA was recognized by Traxsource as “Best of 2018” including: “2 Top 10s”, “16 Top 100 spins” and “60 features in DJ Top 10 Charts” to name a few.
Whether you’re in Toronto, Japan, Berlin, London, Paris, Johannesburg, or major cities across the US, LADY ALMA’s music is revered by many fans and DJs alike. As quoted by legendary dj/producer DJ Jazzy Jeff, “Oh my God…if you’re looking for some true soulful emotion, movin’ vocals…here you go…she makes me wanna throw my hands in the air & party the nite away… that’s Philly soul for ya!”.

Event Details
Thursday Feb 13th – Thursday Feb 19th, 2026
BRAZIL is the largest Latin country in the Americas with cultural influences of this country are a blend of Native American, African, European and Portuguese customs. As an added fact, it claims the most recognized and uninhibited of all Carnival celebrations on the globe.
For the people of Brazil, Carnival is an enormous festival of pride, culture and party energy celebrated annually before Lent each. While Salvador da Bahia claims the largest celebration, Rio de Janeiro’s, massive Street Parties (called Blocos), lavish Masquerade Balls and prestigious Samba school competition make it the epic televised event watched around the world! The signature parade competition in Rio’s Sambadrome Stadium goes on through the entire week, where the top samba troops in the city contend fiercely for the coveted championship crown. Showcased are large, hand-crafted, visually impressive parade floats from each Samba school, led by a beautiful “Samba Queen”. The Samba Queen is accompanied by thousands (yes, thousands) of male & female singers, drummers and dancers in dazzling costumes performing choreographed routines to the Samba beat. It is such an overwhelming, exuberant display of artistry & showmanship – that if you look closely, you’ll may even spot several Samba dancers with absolutely no costume at all! (WHOA)
After the past twelve years of attendance, we can say this event never disappoints! Make plans as we set our sites on a proper return next February. Join the Funky People for the the biggest party on the planet at Carnavale 2026!

Event Details
RETURNING to Washington, DC for Spring 2025 ~ Friday May 23, 2025, DENNIS FERRER is live at FLASH, 645 Florida Ave, NW, Washington, D.C. 20001. Flash is an indoor night club with three levels including a rooftop. 21 & older with ID to enter. Attire is Casual. Come to dance. Street & lot parking nearby. Get Online Tix —>> https://www.flashdc.com/e/OoSiwlCfSV
Dennis Ferrer is without doubt one of the most well rounded producer/song-writers in dance music, let alone house. He’s produced myriad styles (ambient, acid techno, tech, gospel, Afro, soulful), and has collaborated with masters including Damon Wild, Kerri Chandler and Jerome Sydenham. It’s an apprenticeship that many aspiring producers would trade their right arm for, and by combining this with strong ideas and passion, his consistency and quality over the last five years has been peerless.
With a string of soulful hits in the early 2000’s, Ferrer’s absolutely monstrous collaboration with Jerome Sydenham, Sandcastles (2003) was his most ambitious venture to date and straddled the tech-soulful divide for the first time. He has since recorded at least five more of the global dance floor’s biggest records of the last four years: Sandcastles, Son Of Raw, Timbuktu, Church Lady, Blaze / Barbara Tucker “Most Precious Love” (Remix), and Fish Go Deep “The Cure & The Cause” remix. He balks at a genre or scene and this is subsequently what makes a Ferrer record sound so fresh. A Ferrer production is always a hybrid of influences unlike any other. His debut artist album, The World As I See (King Street / Defected) is an amalgamation of global sounds, expertly honed into soul-stirring, modern house collection which moves from futuristic gospel, “Church Lady”, to the afro-techish “Transitions” to the old school hip house of “P 2 Da J”, to the Madonna-esque pop meets gospel of “Touched The Sky”.
When he’s not producing his own music, Ferrer’s passion is developing the careers of others not only in the form of his remixes. His label Objektivity is home base for teenage DJ / producer sensations, The Martinez Brothers with whom he works closely. Filsonik, an emerging producer from the NYC underground also benefits from Ferrer’s ears and will release his first single for the label in the summer. In the meantime, Objektivity just released the highly anticipated Ferrer / Abicah Soul co-remix of “Love Can Damage Your Health” by Telepopmusik. Thereafter, expect nothing but groundbreaking productions from the man who refuses to be painted into a stylistic box. These include a collaboration with Grammy Award winning Norwegian folk singer Ane Brun, Angela McLuskey (from Telepopmusik) and a revisit of Kevin Saunderson’s Inner City project, all culminating in a second, even more ambitious full length album coming on Objektivity before the end of the year.

AN ANNUAL CLASSIC DANCE EVENT RETURNS to Washington, DC ~ WONDER-Full - A Tribute to the Music Wonder of Stevie
Event Details
AN ANNUAL CLASSIC DANCE EVENT RETURNS to Washington, DC ~ WONDER-Full – A Tribute to the Music Wonder of Stevie is at Black Cat DC, 1811 14th Street, NW, Washington, D.C. 20001 on Sunday June 1, 2025. DJs Spinna & Jahsonic curate the vibes. 21 & older with ID. Attire is Casual. Parking nearby. “WONDER-Full – A Tribute To The Music Wonder Of Stevie” a concept created by KeiStar Productions honoring the legendary genius Stevie Wonder… which featured DJ Spinna & *Bobbito who back in 1999, were asked to spin at a party paying tribute to Stevie Wonder’s “Songs In The Key Of Life” album. At this event, we quickly realized we all had a mutual love for ‘Little Stevie’s’ music and judging from the atmosphere on the dance floor that night, we knew we had a good thing going. * (Bobbito has moved on to pursue other ventures since 2008). KeiStar Productions has successfully produced the WONDER-Full event since 1999 starting in its hometown of New York City. From then on KeiStar Productions and DJ Spinna have traveled and hosted the WONDER-Full event nationally and internationally from NYC to Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Washington DC, London, Berlin, Sweden, Canada, Japan, and Amsterdam.
DJ Spinna is an anomaly. As a world-renowned DJ, producer, remixer, label head, promoter, curator, and influencer– Spinna has crafted his artistic vision since the 1990s. His musical spectrum spans all flavors– from Hip-Hop [as founding member of The Jigmastas], to Soul and R&B [authoring remixes for Stevie Wonder and Mary J. Blige] to Jazz and Funk [reviving productions from Roy Ayers, Donald Byrd, Betty Carter, Al Jarreau, Eddie Kendricks] to Electronic/Dance and Soulful House [transforming Shaun Escoffery’s “Days Like This” into a worldwide dance floor anthem]. His prolific studio work led to his 2002 cult-classic LP, Here To There, released on the iconic BBE label.
DJ Spinna is synonymous with ground-breaking, annual tribute events. Since 2001, “WONDER-Full” has celebrated the Guest of Honor, Stevie Wonder. “Soul Slam,” 20-years strong, is the authoritative Michael Jackson vs. Prince party. At Spike Lee’s “BK Loves MJ,” DJ Spinna commemorates Michael Jackson’s birthday in Brooklyn. In 2001, Motown tapped DJ Spinna for a brilliant remix of Michael Jackson’s “We’re Almost There.”
DJ Spinna’s collaborations with Stevie Wonder include remixes for “My Love Is On Fire” and “Sweetest Somebody.” In October 2012, Spinna performed an opening DJ set for Stevie Wonder’s United Nations Peace Concert.
Spinna has blessed global dance floors across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the United States. He enjoys sharing the stage with influencers such as Gilles Peterson, Questlove, Jazzanova, Dimitri from Paris, Joe Claussell, Osunlade, Q-Tip, Jazzy Jeff, Kenny Dope, Keb Darge, DJ Scratch, DJ Shadow & Cut Chemist.
Every week on Apple Music Hits, DJ Spinna’s “Here To There Radio” features two hours of themed selections that showcase his versatile expertise and massive vinyl collection. On Twitch, he has amassed 20,000 followers spinning live, marathon sets and interacting with his chatroom on two weekly shows, DJ Spinna Presents Journey and Galactic Quiet Storm.

SPRING DC SHOW – EXPECTED TO SELL OUT: Tweet whose name is Charlene Keys, was discovered by then young and unknown Missy Elliott after winning an open audition for Elliot’s all-girl group called “Sugar”. Missy was a talent like no one had ever seen, and by 1997 she had made it with her chart-topping debut album. Charlene was working with the girl group, that Missy had left out, and was signed into many contracts that kept promising an album, but never came through. Instead the girls were left in a limbo where they weren’t permitted to work on any other projects, but couldn’t really put any work into the current project either. She was depressed and ready to give up on her dreams. Charlene finally abandoned the project, miserable and penniless, she fled to her parents place in Panama City, Florida and began making preparations for dealing with a life outside the music industry. But fate stepped in exactly one day before Charlene’s planned suicide. Giving herself one more day to live, she got a call from Missy Elliott who begged her to do background vocals on her “So Addictive” album. Charlene was re-energized and eager to get back into music.
Finally in 2001, at age 30, taking in her childhood nickname “Tweet”, her album “Southern Hummingbird” debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard R&B charts, and its first single “Oops (Oh My)” shot to the top ten. A second hit followed in 2002 with “Call Me”. Catch Tweet’s latest shows in 2025 near you!

Soul Clap time travels on a musical spaceship of dopeness… Charles Levine aka Lonely C and Eli Goldstein aka Bamboozle cut their teeth in Boston during the 90’s rave heyday and quickly learned the power of P.L.U.R., a commitment to PEACE LOVE UNITY & RESPECT in the community, on the dancefloor, and in the DJ booth. They found an early mentor in Caril Mitro at local record shop Vinyl Connection, who taught them that HOUSE WEARS MANY HATS, “the ethos that the music we love comes in many shapes and sizes”. These values have led to a one-of-a-kind take on electronic music that breaks through limitations and genres with a deep commitment to carry on the traditions of our musical foremothers and fathers.
Spreading their wings beyond Boston, Soul Clap found acclaim through a series of edits, remixes and originals on Wolf + Lamb, and became a household name with their mixes of Extravaganza and Bakerman. They performed everywhere from The Marcy Hotel, to DC10, to Trouw, to Panorama Bar, to The Electric Pickle and on their travels discovered EVERYBODY’S FREAKY UNDERNATURE’S KINGDOM. EFUNK sounds like modern electronic funk and became their calling card, as the title of their first album in 2012, which led to a collaboration with George Clinton and honorary entry into the P-Funk family. EFUNK remains a bridge between the discerning futurism of underground dance music and the charisma and boldness of funk. Always pushing new boundaries, always traveling through time and space, The Clap is on a mission to change the world one dance floor at a time. Dr. Funkenstein has taught us well: free your mind, and your ass will follow.

JUNE 2025 DC AREA SHOW – EXPECTED TO SELL OUT: Kendrick Lamar Duckworth is one of hip-hop’s most influential rappers known for the songs “Alright,” “HUMBLE.” and “Not Like Us.” After writing stories as a child, the Southern California native who started rapping under the name K-Dot put music to some lyrics about the rough Compton streets he grew up on. Lamar’s 2012 debut studio album, good kid, m.A.A.d City, was released to great acclaim, and his accolades have only grown since. The 22-time Grammy winner has three Best Rap Album awards to his name and made history when his record DAMN. became the first of its genre to earn a Pulitzer Prize in 2018. Lamar surprise-released his sixth studio album, GNX, in November 2024.
SZA is a Grammy-winning R&B artist whose real name is Solána Rowe, is known for her hit songs “Kill Bill,” “Good Days,” and “Snooze.” Her independently released work caught the attention of Top Dawg Entertainment, and she became the label’s first female artist in 2013. Her first full-length album, 2017’s Ctrl, earned critical acclaim en route to platinum certification, but 2022’s SOS was an even bigger smash, topping the Billboard 200, featuring her first No. 1 song “Kill Bill,” and receiving a 2024 Grammy win for Best Progressive R&B Album. The musician has collaborated with popular artists such as Rihanna, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar, with whom she performed at the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show. Started in 1990 as a small gathering of friends behind the Museum of Science & Industry, the Chosen Few Picnic & House Music Festival is the world’s longest-running event dedicated to House Music. Nicknamed the “Woodstock of House Music” for its family-reunion vibe, the Picnic & Festival attracts more than 40,000 fans to Chicago’s Jackson Park each year, and counts among its supporters former United States President Barack Obama.
About the Chosen Few DJs:
Founded in 1977 by Wayne Williams, the Chosen Few DJs is a music collective that was among the first wave of DJs and producers in Chicago who created what became known as House Music. Since 1990, the Chosen Few DJs – Williams, Jesse Saunders, Tony Hatchett, Alan King, Andre Hatchett, Terry Hunter, and Mike Dunn – along with childhood friend Kim Parham – have organized the Chosen Few Picnic & House Music Festival, drawing more than 40,000 fans each year. The collective hosts events in cities across the United States and perform at festivals around the globe, including Amsterdam Dance Event, Winter Music Conference, Tribe Tambor Cruise, and Suncébeat. They also produce hit music, from Terry Hunter’s and Wayne Williams’ GRAMMY-nominated “It’s Your World” by Jennifer Hudson and NAACP Image Award-winning production on “Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics” to Mike Dunn’s critically acclaimed, “My House from All Angles”, the smash “In The Beginning (There Was Jack)”, an update of the classic House track featuring Chuck Roberts and Monique Bingham, and Jesse Saunder’s 2019 Billboard chart-topping “Higher”. ONE SUMMER NIGHT BACK in the DMV this July 2025 with Sheila E. & band!
SHEILA E. ~ “Queen of Percussion”
One of life’s constants for Sheila E. comes down to a simple phrase: follow the beat. And her impeccable inner rhythm is the pulse behind a trailblazing career that still knows no bounds.
Family, faith and music were guiding forces for Sheila E. growing up in the Bay Area. In addition to percussionist dad Pete, the Oakland,CA native counts former Santana member/Azteca founder Coke Escovedo and The Dragons front man Mario Escovedo as uncles. Fellow Latin star Tito Puente was her godfather. In addition to being weaned on Latin jazz and Motown, Sheila E. was exposed to a diverse array of Bay Area acts. Those influences ranged from the rock of Jefferson Airplane and the Grateful Dead to the R&B/pop of the Pointer Sisters and the funk of Sly & the Family Stone. “I used to sit on the corner outside of the local community center with Twinkies and 7-Up listening to Sly and Larry Graham rehearse,” remembers Sheila E. “The sounds of the Bay Area molded me.”
So it’s no surprise that after such a music-immersive childhood, the gifted, world-class drummer and percussionist began amassing an impressive string of credits playing not only with her dad but also with pioneering talents like George Duke, Herbie Hancock, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Lionel Richie, Prince, Ringo Starr, Gloria Estefan, Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez. Grammy Award-nominated singer/songwriter behind the seminal hits “The Glamorous Life” and “A Love Bizarre.” A fearless multi-instrumentalist, equally proficient on guitar and bass, actress, mentor and philanthropist.

LIVE SUMMER DJ SET in Washington, DC ~ Sunday, June 15, 2025 at Sunday Love – Flash, 645 Florida Ave, NW, Washington, D.C. 20001. Get Online Tickets – https://shotgun.live/en/events/soul-clap-flashdc

Event Details
MAY 2025 SHOW – EXPECTED TO SELL OUT: Kendrick Lamar Duckworth is one of hip-hop’s most influential rappers known for the songs “Alright,” “HUMBLE.” and “Not Like Us.” After writing stories as a child, the Southern California native who started rapping under the name K-Dot put music to some lyrics about the rough Compton streets he grew up on.
NEXT LIVE DC SHOW - EXPECTED TO SELL OUT: Powerhouse Grammy Winning Vocalist Ms. Lisa Fischer and her band, Grand Baton, first set out on tour
Event Details
NEXT LIVE DC SHOW – EXPECTED TO SELL OUT: Powerhouse Grammy Winning Vocalist Ms. Lisa Fischer and her band, Grand Baton, first set out on tour in 2014 in-between Lisa’s tours with The Rolling Stones, with no product to sell, no recordings or video to help book or promote shows, no t-shirts. Despite all that, based on Lisa’s reputation alone, they were invited to play in clubs, at the Newport and Monterey Jazz Festivals, and at concert halls all over the globe, winning accolades from critics, devotion from fans, and—always—invitations to return, soon. Their music is an organic gumbo of progressive rock, psychedelic soul, and African, Middle Eastern, Caribbean rhythms and classical influences. In performance, they re-invent songs by Led Zeppelin, Amy Grant, Little Willie John, Luther Vandross, and The Rolling Stones or Lisa’s Grammy winning solo hit “How Can I Ease The Pain”. Lisa has emerged as the most inventive and heartfelt interpreter of classic rock standards and R&B working today. This musical partnership elevates both Fischer’s artistry and Grand Baton’s distinctive style, resulting in a harmonious blend that resonates with audiences seeking a fresh and genre-defying musical experience. Catch the latest live set in the Washington, DC-DMV region this coming May!
