The signature parade competition in Rio’s Sambadrome Stadium goes on through the entire week, where the top samba troops in the city contend fiercely for the coveted championship crown. Showcased are large, hand-crafted, visually impressive parade floats from each Samba school, led by a beautiful “Samba Queen”. The Samba Queen is accompanied by thousands (yes, thousands) of male & female singers, drummers and dancers in dazzling costumes performing choreographed routines to the Samba beat. It is such an overwhelming, exuberant display of artistry & showmanship – that if you look closely, you’ll may even spot several Samba dancers with absolutely no costume at all! (WHOA)
